What is Love & Lace?

Some of you may be thinking, "What?? Now she's a fine art boudoir photographer?"... the answer is, sort of, but that wasn't entirely my intent behind these sessions. This was another one of those Motherhood Remembered moments for me. I was simply planning an event for Valentine's day based off a vision I had. I've always wanted to do a boudoir session myself, but I didn't want photographs of myself that were too in your face, overly provocative, or sexual, either. I wanted a session that was about confidence, which in itself, is the sexiest part of a woman. So when I planned the Love & Lace event for Valentine's Day, I wanted to photograph these women in a very soft and subtle way, teaching them to really own their beauty.We started each shoot off with 15-20 minutes of just getting to know each other. I love when clients talk to me about life, we exchange stories over a mimosa, it's quite amazing! It was like therapy, girl talk, it reminded me of a fun sleepover, the kind when you're a teenager. Minus the tacky nail polish and crazy hairstyles (we use to dress up and do horrible mini photoshoots back then too, haha!). These sessions were so much fun, very playful, and it was beautiful being able to teach these women how to connect with their bodies. That is what this is all about. We have these amazing God-given vessels. We should own our bodies, be proud of what we have been given, why do we question if we are "beautiful enough" all of the time?! Why wait and lose 15 lbs, why wait till you get those abs? What if you miss the next 10 years of loving what you've been given because you want to wait for what you think perfection is? Who says you're not perfect the way you are? When your physical being is connected with your soul, naturally, beauty is born. That is why I want to take Love and Lace global. I want to empower women, like you, all over. Teaching women how to treat, connect, and love themselves the way we were created to. That is the passion behind Love & Lace.
