Miss E's Dreamy Boudoir Photos
I have been surprised by the kind of opportunities that have come my way since niching in photographing women and boudoir in Salt Lake City. Having miss E in the studio was such a treat. This strong single mama graced our studio with her confidence and sass. This mama is more than what meets the eye. She's a director, a dancer, works fulls time while being an amazing mom to her daughter. This woman is inspiring to say the least!Miss E was chosen for a commercial project I was apart of with a local producer here in Salt Lake City. This project was one that made me step out of my comfort zone as we used a mix of studio lighting and natural light. Might I add, I am in LOVE with studio lighting now. I never thought I would say this but there's so much control when you have your own lighting. Yes, I will always be a natural light shooter at heart. I love the challenge of being able to bend and shape natural light with V-flats, plus I LOVE back-light so much and true backlight is best when it's natural light, in my opinion.
Photography and Lighting Set Up - For you Photog nerds ;-)
In this shoot, we only used the studio light in some of the darker setups. I would create a black "box" with my v-flats, with an opening for natural light to be straight on her and one large octagon above her. This set up created a dreamy flattering look as it shaped and contoured her body just beautifully. This stunning image of Miss E is set up using 3 V-flats, an 8-foot octagon light above her and natural light straight on. This lighting set up is flattering for any shape, age, and body!
Backlighting will always be in my boudoir folio... It's the dreamiest, especially when flowing fabric and fans are involved.
