Baby Girl Emmanuel's Lifestyle Newborn Session

When Rachel contacted me, she wanted to do a family oriented, lifestyle newborn session. She didn't want the posey, curled up, propy shots. I was a little bit nervous when I accepted the job, just because it's a new realm for me, but not much different that what we do in Motherhood Remembered. I wanted baby to feel relaxed, and not awkward and awake, like some newborn lifestyle sessions can look.We started off the session feeding baby, rocking her to sleep, which we were successful at, but the funny part about this shoot, is the minute we would put sleeping baby in posed position onto the baby poser, she would flail and wake up. We tried this process a couple times, spent the first hour trying and trying again until I decided, ok well, let's skip the shots of Emmanuel by herself for now and let her just be held, right where she wanted to be (sometimes you just gotta go with the flow), and how it perfectly played into mom's visions for her lifestyle newborn shoot, anyway.We focused on the special bond of their family, and I am so glad I did. I'm glad I didn't force her to be photographed much by herself because these shots just swoon my heart. From little sweet smiles (first photo) to beautiful romantic moments between mom and dad. I am so happy with how this came out, I am excited to be asked to photograph a newborn session like this again!
